A small detachment of Khorne-worshippers to form part of the core of the Chaos army I intend to build for Epic 40k.

The Rhino armoured transport vehicle miniatures are of course original plastic ones from Games Workshop. These particular ones were part of an eBay listing that I bought years ago, and had enamel paint on them which reduced the definition in some of the details. But I wasn’t too bothered about that — I just sprayed white primer over the top, and painted as normal.

The infantry are metal ‘forumware’ miniatures, which I acquired through another eBay listing some time ago. (The round bases are from Vanguard Miniatures.)

I wanted a fairly quick result, so I opted for white primer spray paint, followed by red contrast paint to create the base coat, basic shading and highlights all in one go. Good enough for me. Then the details were pretty easy — although the brass-coloured areas were slightly fiddly, especially as it took two applications to get good coverage from the paint.

I currently favour the third edition of Epic (in the guise of our fan-based revamp, Epic Remastered). With that in mind, I’ll probably use these miniatures in a detachment similar to the one in this roster:
